PUBLIC TRANSPORT — TRAIN PURCHASE
960. Hon ED DERMER to the minister representing the Minister
for Transport:
I refer to the minister's answer to question without
notice 945, asked on 13 November 2012.
(1) In which years of the forward estimates is the $7.339
million allocated?
(2) How much
money has been allocated in each year of the forward estimates for the
operational costs of the 22 new trains on order?
(3) What is the total estimated annual operating cost for the
22 new trains when they are all in operation?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question. I am very pleased to provide the following answer. The Public
Transport Authority advises —
(1)–(2)
In 2012–13, $213 000; 2013–14, $325 000; 2014–15, $407 000,
2015–16, $1 576 000; and 2016–17, $4 818 000.
(3) Approximately $20 million, excluding depreciation and
borrowing costs.
