I refer to question without notice 704 asked on Tuesday, 11 October 2005, and ask - (1) Will the minister table a copy of the report of the independent review panel that considered the draft “Environmental Protection (Swan Coastal Plain Wetlands) Policy 2004”; and, if not, why not? (2) Further to the answer to part (3) of question 704, does the report constitute an exempt document; and, if so, for what reasons, given that a matter that is merely factual, statistical, scientific or technical is not exempt matter, as provided for by the Freedom of Information Act 1992? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The Minister for the Environment has provided the following response - (1) The minister will table a copy of the report and her response in the next week or so. (2) It is considered that the document would be designated an exempt document under clause 6 of the Freedom of Information Act 1992. However, it has always been the minister’s intention to release the report along with her response to its recommendations.
