I refer to the regulatory framework for Stand-alone Power Systems (SPS) in Western Australia, and I ask: (a) under current regulations, what is the maximum number of customers that a single SPS can service; (b) have any legislative or regulatory changes been made to allow broader deployment of SPS since the passage of the Electricity Industry Amendment Act 2020; and (c) what is the current regulatory framework governing SPS and are further amendments proposed to facilitate wider usage?

Under the current Electricity Industry (Stand-Alone Power Systems) Regulations 2021, a single stand-alone power system (SPS) can service a maximum of five customers.
Changes have been made to the following regulatory instruments since the passage of the Electricity Industry Amendment Act 2020 to support the use of SPS:
• Electricity Corporations (Areas of Operation) Regulations 2015;
• Electricity Networks Access Code 2004;
• Electricity Industry (Licence Conditions) Regulations 2005;
• Electricity Industry (Obligation to Connect) Regulations 2005; and
• Electricity Industry (Network Quality and Reliability of Supply) Code 2005.
