Ferry terminal—Matilda
Bay, Nedlands
648. Mr Jonathan Huston to the Minister for Transport:
I have a
supplementary question. Will the minister table the complete and unredacted
business and technical case that she just referred to, Metronet on Swan, which
also includes Matilda Bay, and, if not, why not?

I will tell the
member this: stand up and accept the facts. All we have done on this is given
the facts. There is a whole document on the website. I released a Facebook post
summarising what has been on the internet for weeks—that is, a fact
sheet that goes through all these issues. People say, "Well, this is new
news. This is new news. Look at the minister coming out now today!" The
facts are there. Accept the facts. I mean, honestly—the conspiracy
theories and this extremist nature are not in the public's interest. I say
accept the facts. We are giving you the information. We have gone through it.
There is a waterways user group that sits there and gets all the information.
The federal member
for Curtin asked for a briefing, so we gave it to her. Does the member know
what the federal member for Curtin said? She said, "I don't want a
briefing; I just want to ask questions." She would not even sit there and
listen to the facts. If you do not want to listen to the facts, I am sorry;
that is your prerogative. But the facts are out there. This is the best
position. This is, again, generational infrastructure so kids around the
suburbs can have access to the university.
The Speaker: Thank you, minister. That concludes
question time.
