Central Metropolitan District 1:279 West Metropolitan District 1:781 Importantly, other operational police units, including the Transit Unit, Major Crash Section, Major Incident Group, Gang Response Unit, Crime Scene Unit, Regional Operations Group, Regional Investigations Unit, Canine Section, Mounted Section, State Protection Services, State Security Unit, Tactical Response Group, and Forensic Ballistics, are stationed and operate within the Central Metropolitan and West Metropolitan Districts. Furthermore, depending on the type of incident, available police officers from other Police Districts and support and specialist areas, may be called upon to assist.
