I refer to the Auditor General’s Report “Controls Over Portable Assets – State Entities” (Report 10: 2025-26), and I ask:(a) does the Minister acknowledge the findings that WA Country Health Service had only partially effective controls over portable assets;(b) does the Minister support the recommendations of the Auditor General;(c) who is responsible for implementing these recommendations within WA Country Health Service;(d) what is the timeframe for implementing recommendations;(e) what actions are being taken in the short term to address unrecorded assets and the lack of disposal documentation; and(f) will strengthened asset management practices be extended across other health services in Western Australia?

The WA Country Health Service Executive is responsible for ensuring implementation of the recommendations arising from the OAG report, with relevant management responsible for associated compliance activities.
It is the Minister’s expectation that all recommendations are implemented, which is on track.
The Department of Health, as System Manager, already maintains system-wide policies and guidance for asset management, including for portable and attractive items, across the WA health system.
