Criminal Law (Mentally Impaired Accused) Act 1996
is currently still
under review. It is intended that any proposed amendments arising from the
review will be introduced into Parliament during the Autumn 2012 session.

Targeted consultation with key stakeholders has been planned and will
commence shortly. Broader consultation by way of a Green Paper may be
considered depending on the outcome of the targeted consultation.
