141. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the opening of the
Elizabeth Quay water park at approximately 4.00 pm on Friday, 29 January 2016,
and to the certificate of compliance issued at 3.00 pm.
(1) What water tests were undertaken
in conjunction with WA Health in issuing this certificate?
(2) Will the Minister for Health
table the results of this specific water testing?
(3) Will the
minister now table all advice he received prior to the opening on 29 January
regarding the water quality?

(1) Water samples
were taken by the City of Perth on 21, 25, 26 and 28 January 2016. Testing was
for a standard range of indicator waterborne microorganisms—thermotolerant
coliforms, E. coli, thermophilic amoebae and thermophilic Naegleria .
(2) Yes, the
Minister for Health is happy to have the water testing results tabled. The
Department of Health has been instructed to prepare a full report and the
minister will provide it to the member as soon as it is available and table it
at the next sitting day.
(3) The minister
did not receive advice about water quality results at Elizabeth Quay water park
prior to the opening on 29 January 2016.
