NICHELIVING
783. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Minister for Commerce:
I refer to the minister's
meeting with Nicheliving this week about the hundreds of unfinished homes
across Perth, dating back more than three years.
(1) Who attended
the meeting, where did the meeting take place, and what was the duration of the
meeting?
(2) Has a follow-up meeting been scheduled with
Nicheliving's management; and, if so, when will this take place?
(3) How many
unfinished homes does Nicheliving claim it currently has under construction,
and is it in the vicinity of 300 to 500 homes, as claimed by Nicheliving
customers?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) Five
representatives from Nicheliving, along with ministerial staff, attended that
meeting. I asked for additional data on the number of builds, and the status
and timelines for completion. I will discuss that information with the Building Commissioner, to add to the data he
already has, to get a clearer overall picture.
Hon Martin
Aldridge : There is a cover-up going on.
Hon SUE ELLERY : The member
wants to think about the sort of allegations he makes because there is no basis
for what he just said.
Hon Martin Aldridge : Answer
the question!
Hon
SUE ELLERY : I did answer the
question. The fact that you do not like the answer is irrelevant. Do not accuse me of a cover-up. You do not know what you are talking about!
Hon Martin Aldridge interjected.
The PRESIDENT : Order!
