(1) Are the pairs
of cameras facing entry and exits in the Butler train station car parks capable
of being used with numberplate recognition software?
(2) Can these pairs of cameras be
remotely moved to film other parts of the car parks?
(3) If no to (2), why not?
(4) Why are two different types of

(5) Can the
minister guarantee that these pairs of cameras will not be used for numberplate
recognition by the current government?

these cameras have the ability for an operator to read a numberplate from the
camera or recording of the camera, the system does not have automatic
numberplate recognition.

Two different types of cameras are installed at Butler station, as some are
required to be fixed cameras and others are tilt and pan-type cameras to enable
security staff to monitor the station surrounds.
