1. Yes
[see tabled paper no______].
2. Not applicable.
3. Yes.
4. 24.
5. Six.
6. It is the responsibility of each staff member to identify any actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest (in which they are personally involved) that arises in the course of the performance of their duties for the Department.
Once identified, in conjunction with their line manager, staff must develop an Action Plan for the management of the conflict of interest.
There are six categories of response strategies; Register, Restrict, Recruit, Remove, Relinquish and Resign. All conflicts of interest must be registered as a minimum, but in order to ensure impartiality, will generally also include another category/s dependent upon the seriousness of the conflict.
The point at which a staff member would be removed from an affected decision?making process would depend on the seriousness of the conflict of interest.
Detailed procedures are in place to guide staff and managers in managing perceived and actual conflicts of interest.
