143. Mr BROWN to the Premier:
I refer to the Premier's 1998 contribution to the Trade Match CD-ROM and ask -
(a) who did the Premier meet in regard to lending his support to Trade Match, and on what dates;
(b) is the Premier aware that Entrex Capital Pty Ltd, the company now behind Trade Match, has collapsed; and
(c) does the Premier still consider Trade Match to be a "truly remarkable achievement", as he states on the CD-ROM?

The Minister Replied:
(a) In 1994 I met with the Hon Hendy Cowan, Deputy Premier and Bruce Sutherland at Parliament House to discuss "Trade Match".
(b) I am aware of a recent newspaper article dated 15 April 2000, which details the collapse of Entrex Capital Pty Ltd.
(c) Any opportunity to develop mechanisms which place trade information on an easily accessible central network and encourage export opportunities should always be encouraged.
