(1) Training under the WA Suicide Prevention Strategy is offered in line with the National LIFE Framework priority Action Areas 2 to 5. Specifically, training is to improve community strength, resilience and capacity in suicide prevention; coordinate approaches to suicide prevention; provide targeted suicide prevention activities; and implement standards and quality in suicide prevention.
The following list of suicide prevention training providers is offered to communities developing CAPs:
· Anglicare
· Asist - Operated by Living Works
· Asist T4T - Operated by Living Works
· Australian Institute of Management - Life management courses
· Blooming Minds - beyondblue
· Brain Ambulance
· Centre for Clinical Intervention
· CORES - Community Response to Eliminating Suicide
· Cultural competence in working with suicidality and interpersonal trauma
· Gate Keeper Training - (One Life)
· Good Grief
· GreenApple Mental Health Services
· Indigenous Psychological Services
· Indigo Courses: CLAN WA
· Kids Matter
· King Edward Memorial Hospital
· Lifeforce Suicide Prevention Workshop- operated by Lifeforce
· Living Is For Everyone (Life) - Promote Living
· Lifeline WA
· Lifeworks
In addition, some CAPs include skill development activities tailored to local community needs such as football clinics for young men, training for support workers of homeless youth and culturally appropriate responses for Aboriginal communities.
(2) As at 11 August 2011, 34 people have had Gate Keeper training. This includes:
· Department of Fisheries x 2 (25 participants)
· Roleystone Community (9 participants).
(3) Centrecare Corporate.
