WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL
REGULATION — CONSULTANTS
895. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Minister for Environment:
Regarding the employment of
consultants, for the previous financial year, how many retired Department of
Water and Environmental Regulation officers were re-hired by the agency as
consultants?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Environment.
As part of this government's
ongoing commitment to accountability and transparency, a six-monthly Report
on consultants engaged by the government is tabled in both houses of
Parliament. It is not possible to provide an accurate account for retired DWER
officers who may be re-hired by the agency as consultants.
