Department of Planning
(1) The Department of Planning does not have a complaints management unit, however a corporate complaints handling process has been in place since 1 July 2009. The Planning and Development Act 2005 and associated legislation provides for a right of review to the State Administrative Tribunal of any grievance or complaint by the applicant/owner about the planning application process, including the refusal of a planning application, or regulated timeframes not being observed. Any complaints about the Department's products, services, staff, legislation it administers or the complaints handling process itself are investigated and responded to by the Executive Director of the relevant Division. The Department has systems in place to ensure compliance with the Public Sector Commissioner's Circular 2009-27 - Complaints Management.
