On behalf of the Minister for Road Safety, I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The money
is being spent on a joint WA and Victorian study in two stages, aimed at
reducing the likelihood of crashes involving cyclists by enhancing the urban
design and road environment. The first stage is a population-based study. Stage
two will translate the findings into enhanced road designs and trial cyclist
interactions with them. It commenced in 2013–14 and it will be
completed in 2015–16.
(2) (a)–(b) No.
(3) Not applicable.
