(2) The Police Service advise s pecific initiatives since 2001 include: · Increasing the number of Aboriginal Police Liaison Officers (APLOs) by 40 · As a result of the Gordon inquiry multi-agency facilities in remote locations to establish a permanent police and initiated actions at Warburton, Kalumburu, Jigalong, Balgo, Bidyadanga, Warmun, Warakurna and Kintore in the Northern Territory. · The development and implementation of a framework improving the accessibility to services, communication and encouraging the reporting of offences. · The Acts Amendment (Family and Domestic Violence) Bill 2004, amended the Restraining Orders Act and the Criminal Code which improved interagency response to domestic violence matters. (3) The Police Service advise the following statistics relate to the period 27 April 04 to 27 April 05 · 94 APLO applications · 37 APLOs completed the Academy training · 12 Police Officer applications from persons of Aboriginal descent. · 6 persons of Aboriginal descent completed the Police Officer training.
