ROAD SAFETY COMMISSIONER — APPOINTMENT
546. Mr P.A. KATSAMBANIS to the Minister for Public Sector
Management:
I have a supplementary question. My question was about the
fact that two years ago, the government removed the Road Safety Commissioner
and during those two years, three people have acted in that role. While the
road toll goes up, the role still has not
been advertised and it still has not been filled on a permanent basis. My
question to the minister is—he
has avoided answering the question, and I seek an answer—when is the
Premier, as the Minister for Public Sector Management, going to get
around to filling this important position of Road Safety Commissioner on a permanent
basis?

I will check the facts as the member for Hillarys alleges
because what I find with the Liberal Party is that often when it comes in here
and says things, they are often incorrect. I say once again: do not politicise
the deaths of people on our roads.
