The Minister Replied:
(1) Cycleways, including both on and off-road facilities, consisting of 617.6 kilometres of on-road and 68.5 kilometres of off-road (path) facilities have been completed as part of Stage I of the Perth Bicycle Network Plan (PBN).
(2) Stage 1 to be completed by December 2001. Completion of Stages 2 and 3 of PBN is dependent on funding.
(3) $7.26 million has been allocated to the 2000-2001 PBN budget. This will be spent across metropolitan Perth on various projects for new and upgraded cycleways.
(4) Under the PBN program, 617.6 kilometres of on-road and 68.5 kilometres of off-road facilities have been constructed.
(5) Refer to item 2.
(6) The Principal Shared Path (PSP) between Perth and Midland is planned over the three Stages of the Perth Bicycle Network Plan and thus will not be completed till the end of stage 3. A section of PSP, between East Perth and Bayswater, will be completed this financial year.
(7) Consideration will be given to allow cycling over the Mount Street footbridge once it has been resurfaced. It is anticipated that resurfacing will be undertaken in November 2000.
