LOBBYISTS — LEGISLATION
I refer to the election commitment that a Liberal government would “move quickly to legislate to register and monitor the activities of consultant lobbyists”. (1) Does the Premier still intend to introduce legislation? (2) If yes to (1), when? (3) If no to (1), why not? (4) Given that it is now two years since this commitment was made, why has the Premier not “moved quickly”? Hon NORMAN MOORE

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes. (2) In 2011. (3) Not applicable. (4) This is a complex area and one that requires careful consideration, full consultation and due regard to lobbyist arrangements in other jurisdictions.
