Prisoners—Escapes
1258. Hon Nick Goiran to
the minister representing the Minister for Corrective
Services:
I refer to the
minister's answer on 3 December 2025 to my question without notice 1176, which
revealed that one of the three prison escape investigations was finalised on 6
November 2025.
(1) Which prison escape was this in relation to?
(2) Will the minister now provide a summary of the
outcomes of that investigation, just as his colleague the Attorney General did
following the McCullough escape investigation?
(3) How long have the other two remaining
investigations been on foot?
(4) Which witnesses are holding up these
investigations after all this time?
(5) Given the growing age of these investigations
and the department's repeated excuses about witness availability, will the
minister support the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry to finally get to
the bottom of these prison escapes?
