I refer to the Perth Waterfront Development project which the Premier originally promised would commence construction this year, but that the Premier now says will commence in early 2012, and his commitment that if major excavation work did not commence by early 2012 he would resign, and I ask:
(a) does the Premier stand by that promise;
(b) what specific date in early 2012 constitutes the quitting point if major excavation has not commenced;
(c) why has the Premier not commenced construction in 2010 as promised in June last year; and
(d) that the Premier provide an update on the current status of this project.

(a-d) As has been said multiple times in the media and in Parliament, construction on the Perth Waterfront Development has not commenced due to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting due tin be held late 2011. This will delay the commencement of the project by approximately six or so months. I will update the public regularly on the project's progress as events warrant.
