The following information has been provided by the Commonwealth which controls the data and other details associated with these figures:
1.
In Western Australia, approved beds currently number:
- 6141 high care beds
- 7825 low care beds
- 2257 Community Aged Care Packages (CACP)

The exact number of current operational beds is not known as the Commonwealth will not release this information. However the Resident Classification Scale (RCS) National Review Statistics published in the latest edition of the Aged and Community Services WA Newsletter published 28 February 2002, would indicate that there were 5480 high care and 5560 low care operational beds.
