I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) I intend to release discussion papers prepared by the “Wetline” Review’s independent management planning and commercial access panels for public comment before the end of the year. (2)-(4) As part of discussions regarding the status of the oceanic pink snapper stock, I met with representatives of the Shark Bay Snapper Fishermen’s Association, during which time issues relating to pink snapper and wetline management in the Gascoyne were raised. I invited the association to prepare a submission outlining its views. I have recently received its submission and have forwarded it to the department, which will include it, along with all other submissions, for consideration as part of the public consultation process.
