(1) The Department of Mines and Petroleum does access a media monitoring service.
(a) Media Monitors.
(b) The contract costs $282 per month plus fees per items provided.
(c) The costs incurred for the service from October to December 2008 by the then Department of Industry and Resources was October - December: $18 736.54. The costs for January and February were $11 907.30, shared by Departments of Mines and Petroleum and State Development.
(d) The current contract expires 2 January 2010.
(e) The department has had a contract with Media Monitors since 2004.
