The stopping place for the Prospector train at Doodlakine has not been closed. In February this year, WestNet Rail Pty Ltd indicated it had safety concerns about the stopping place. After discussions with the Public Transport Authority, WestNet Rail Pty Ltd and the Office of Rail Safety, and following representations from Hon Kim Chance MLC, the Government has decided to relocate the platform some 300 to 400 metres east of its present location. Under this proposal, the new platform will include ramps and other facilities for people with mobility difficulties.
