COST-OF-LIVING RELIEF
563. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. The
Premier has had a summer public transport blunder, a WA student assistance
payment blunder —
Point of Order
Mr D.A. TEMPLEMAN : Madam
Speaker, this is a supplementary question and, again, the member starts with a statement.
The SPEAKER : Yes. Member,
there are strict rules for supplementary questions. They need to be short and
sharp and need to relate to the original question. They cannot have a preamble
or two parts.
Questions without Notice Resumed
Mr P.J. RUNDLE : Is the
Premier's latest zoo stunt just another idea to buy votes?

Madam
Speaker, to respond to the member, I will quote a listener by the name of Sarah
who called Nadia Mitsopoulos on ABC Perth on Tuesday, 10 September. She
said —
As
a low-socioeconomic family, I am just grateful that I am able to take my kids
who live with disabilities , I am able to take them to the Royal Show and
to the Zoo and it has made that sort of stuff possible for us this school
holidays.
As
at 1.00 pm today, we had allocated 135 000 tickets to Western Australian
families to go to the Zoo this spring, to take their kids and provide
them with a day out. I am sorry that the member for Roe does not like it, but Western
Australian families certainly do.
