The Department of Education does not allocate specific funding for general supplies like stationery in WA public schools. Schools operate with a one-line budget under the student-centred funding model (SCFM), allowing them to decide how to allocate funds, including for supplies.

Public schools do not receive funding specifically identified for general supplies such as stationery and working materials.
Public schools in Western Australia operate with a one-line budget and are funded through the student-centred funding model (SCFM) on a calendar-year basis.  The SCFM funds each student enrolled in a public school with different funding amounts allocated depending on the year level of the student.  The model also provides targeted funding allocations that include school and student characteristics.  Additional funding may be provided to specified schools for strategic programs and services.
The SCFM supports greater local control and decision-making by principals and school communities in determining how funds are utilised. This includes decisions on how funds are spent on stationery and working materials.
