of the Minister for Child Protection, on 11 September 2025, during National
Child Protection Week, to answer any of the three routine questions asked by
the Member for Carine in the other place. I now re-ask those same three
questions and respectfully request that the information be provided without
further delay.(1) How many children are in the care of the
state?(2) Are any of those children waiting for a
long-term care placement?(3) How many of those children are currently
recorded as missing?

of the Opposition for some notice of the question. The following responses been
provided by the Minister for Child Protection.The Department of
Communities advises the following.(1) As at 31 August 2025, there were 5,279
children in the care of the CEO.(2) Yes.(3) Of the 5,279 in the care of the CEO, two a
currently listed as missing.
