refer to the City of Swan proposal to block places of worship being built in a
special zoned rural area of the Swan Valley and ask: (a) Does
the Minister support the proposal: (i) If
yes, why; (b) Will
the Minister override the decision or order an amendment
if it is passed by the council: (i) If
not, why not; (c) Has
the Minister or any of her departmental staff contacted
the City of Swan to request the council not proceed
until the Swan Valley Planning Review has been completed; (d) Is
a restriction on the number of places of worship in the district part of the Swan Valley Planning Review; (e) Did
the Swan Valley Planning Review panel receive any public submissions requesting a restriction on
the number of places of
worship in the district: (i) If
yes, by whom; and (f) When
will the Swan Valley Planning Review be completed?

(a)-(f) The Minister will let the existing local government process run its course, which will involve council consideration and public comment.
The recommendations from the Swan Valley review process are currently being considered and a formal response is being prepared.
