I refer to the Minister's announcement of a new 'Aubin Grove' railway station to be located in the suburbs of Atwell and Success, and ask —
(1) On what date did the Public Transport Authority (PTA) request the preparation of the artists' impression of this proposed station?
(2) What was the cost of the artists' impression of this proposed station?
(3) What planning work has the Government undertaken on bus routes to service this station and will the Minister table it?
(4) How much land is required to be purchased for the car park at this station and who currently owns the land?
(5) What traffic modelling has the PTA undertaken on the impact of the 2000 bay car park on surrounding roads and will the Minister table it?

The
Public Transport Authority
advises:
1. On 24 July 2012.
2.  $11 300.
3. The Government has announced the construction of a station at Aubin Grove.  In accordance with normal practise, the Government will now await and allow the Public Transport Authority (PTA) sufficient time to prepare a Master Plan, including detailed design to implement the Project.  The Master Plan will include; community consultation, the definition of the land requirements, bus service details, traffic arrangements to serve the park and ride, the final concept design and cost estimate.
This process is not without precedent. For example, although a State Labor Government announced in July 2001 that the railway from Mandurah would follow a route to Perth directly through South Perth and not via Kenwick, considerable work was required over the following twelve months by the PTA to produce the Perth Urban Rail Development Supplementary Master Plan (August 2002) which included; considerable stakeholder consultation against major opposition, evaluation of options, detailed technical and operational requirements, together with final cost estimates to support the Government's announcement of July 2001.
