I refer to the investigation by the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (DOCEP) into the Amazing Grace Benefactor Project, and ask -
(1) When did DOCEP first become aware of the project?
(2) When did a DOCEP investigator first visit the proponents of the project?
(3) When did DOCEP become aware that the project no longer operated?
(4) Can the Minister advise the length of the investigation?
(5) Can the Minister advise as at April 30 2004, the cost of DOCEP’s investigation into the Amazing Grace Benefactor Project?
(6) Can the Minister advise how many other pyramid type schemes were under investigation by DOCEP at the same time as the Amazing Grace Benefactor Project?
(7) Can the Minister advise whether there is a specific unit within DOCEP that deals specifically with pyramid type schemes?
(8) If yes to (7), can the Minister please provide details of -
(a) number of staff in the unit;
(b) levels of staff in the unit; and
(c) the total 2003-04 operational budget for the unit?
