(1)-(3) The areas referred to in the question are not defined, and it is therefore not possible to provide an accurate answer. The majority of quarrying activities around metropolitan Perth are approved and regulated by local government through an extractive industries licence. The Department of Mines and Petroleum does maintain a complete record of the locations of mining activities approved under the
Mining Act 1978
, but the departmental record is not complete in relation to quarries approved by local government.
For all tenements granted under the
Mining Act 1978
, the Department of Mines and Petroleum's online Tengraph system provides data on the size of each tenement.
All pending tenements are also shown on the Department of Mines and Petroleum's online Tengraph system.
