Women's health centres728.Ms Libby Mettamto
theMinister for Health:I refer to the $14 million
funding promised for women's health centres across our state by the Premier
during the election, which was not funded in this year's budget.Given that centres
are currently overwhelmed by a backlog of women needing health care, many of
whom are fleeing or are victims of domestic violence, why has the minister not
fulfilled that promise?

Ms Meredith Hammat replied:I thank the member
for the question. Arrangements have been made for that money to be made
available for women's health centres. The department is working with them to
ensure that the money is received by them so that they can deliver those services.
