I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The Housing Authority is
responsible.
(2) Yes, there
have been a number of short outages over the last few days due to the bores
being low‑producing and the increased community consumption.
(3) The Housing
Authority, through its contracted state program manager, has been monitoring a recent
increase in water consumption. The Housing Authority has identified a currently
unused bore and is investigating its status and suitability for use. The
Housing Authority has continued to communicate with the community via its
regional service provider on the need to better manage water use.
(4) Only one
other community, Yakanarra, has been without water in recent days. Yakanarra
had a major leak in the supply pipeline on 11 November 2016 that interrupted
supply overnight. The bore switchboard also suffered an electrical fault that
interrupted water supply for a few hours.
