(2) How many trainees are currently employed?
(3) Are there currently any plans to increase the number of apprenticeships and traineeships immediately?
(4) If yes to (3), what are the proposed increases?
(5) What funds have been allocated in 2009-10 to recruit more participants for apprenticeships and traineeships?
(6) If no funds have been allocated, why not?

(1) Nil.
(2) The Department of Corrective Services currently has 160 Prison Officer Trainees employed. However, there are no persons employed under a traineeship program at present.
(3) Yes, during the following financial year.
(4) The Department has so far committed to offer 5 places for the Aboriginal traineeship program in 2010/2011 financial year.
(5) As per question (3) above, the Department has committed to offer 5 places at a total of $150,000 per annum.
(6) Not applicable.
