I refer to page 811 of the 2012-13 Budget papers regarding the Details of Controlled Grants and Subsidies, and I ask —
(1) Why has no funding been allocated in 2012-13 for a Biodiversity Conservation Officer at the Conservation Council?
(2) Is any of the funding listed under 'Other' going to the conservation Council?
(3) If yes to (2), how much?

(1) Funding for the position was last included in the Budget Statements for the Department of Environment and Conservation in 2010-11 and the grant for the position remains unfunded.  The grant will not be able to be renewed having regard to the requirement to implement a $3.75 million Efficiency Dividend in DEC in 2012-13 and increasing pressure on the State's finances resulting from falling commodity prices and reductions to the State's share of GST revenues.
(2) No
(3) Not applicable
