I thank the member for some notice of this question. I am advised - (1) Yes. A temporary transportable home has been provided to the Ngurrawaana community by the Department of Education and Training. This type of accommodation is utilised in remote communities when there is uncertainty about the permanency of the school due to a low number of school-age children. It is accepted that it is unsatisfactory accommodation in the long term. (2) DET has requested a three-bedroom house for the Ngurrawaana community to replace this accommodation. (3) The Government Employees Housing Authority plans to construct a new house in the community in 2006-07, subject to the finalisation of next year’s funding submission.
