INDIGENOUS
INCARCERATION RATES — INTERPRETER SERVICES — ACCESS
908. Mr B.S. WYATT to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. In
light of the fact that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court referred to the ZZZ### ZZZobvious and direct link'' between access to
interpreter services and the fact that trials have been declared mistrials as a
result of a lack of access to interpreter services, what will the Premier do to
ensure that there are no miscarriages of justice as a result of lack of access
to interpreters?

Declaring a mistrial is not a miscarriage of justice. I have
the highest respect for the Chief Justice and his views, but it is not a view
shared by the government.
