I have a supplementary question. The minister advised the House that the $30 million-a-year cut in the budget for the Department of Education and Training was being reinvested in other educational programs. Given that there is no reference to that in the budget papers for this year and given that the minister has made no announcement about where the money will be spent, will the minister tell us in which new programs is $30 million being invested? The SPEAKER: Before I give the call to the minister, I remind members that long lead-ups to supplementary questions should not be required if the questions are true supplementary questions. If a question is to qualify as a supplementary question, it must be short. The minister will respond to the last 15 seconds of that question. Mr A.J. CARPENTER

The member for Darling Range should listen carefully. There is no cut. Mr J.H.D. Day: It is in the budget papers on page 904. Mr A.J. CARPENTER: The education budget increased extremely well. There has been no cut. There is a direction. The $30 million savings will be reinvested in educational programs.
