I thank the member for the question and for his interest in the upgrade to Camp Quaranup. I also recognise that the member for Yokine, as the former minister, took the lead in ensuring that a network of camps were upgraded. He used the proceeds from the sale of the Noalimba Accommodation and Conference Centre in 2004 to start this program. The work at Camp Quaranup in Albany has been completed. The kitchen and other facilities have been upgraded and now cheap, accessible camp facilities are available to a range of community and school groups. Those groups can visit the camp in Albany or the Ern Halliday, Point Walter or Woodman Point camps in Perth and have access to a range of activities that relate to their particular programs, whether it be school or sporting activities or fun and recreation activities during the holidays. It is a fantastic example of the Carpenter government using the resources available to it to provide real benefits to the people of Western Australia through low-cost, accessible camping facilities. The $1.1 million upgrade at Camp Quaranup will be a boon to the camp and its many users. Again, I thank the member for his interest and I congratulate the former minister, the member for Yokine, for making this commitment to improve the camp.
