(1) Will the Minister confirm that new rolling stock for the southern-northern suburbs rail systems has been ordered by the present Government?
(2) Is it correct that the Government has stated that the proposed South Perth-Como link needs to be built because the new rolling stock is unable to access the Kenwick option?
(3) If yes to (2), why can’t the new rolling stock access the Kenwick facilities?

2 -3). No. However, I have pointed out that to run these trains satisfactorily, the number of stations on the Victoria Park line were planned to be closed. Alternatively, they would have to run at 110 kilometres per hour which would lengthen the Kenwick Deviation trip time even further. I have also stated that these trains will run at different speeds to the other trains running on the Armadale line. Running 20 trains per hour travelling at 2 different speeds with 2 or 3 different stopping patterns would be extremely difficult.
