PERTH NORTHERN PIPELINE PROJECT
793. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to
the minister representing the Minister for Water:
I refer to the Perth northern pipeline project.
(1) Is the project still on the government agenda?
(2) Has it been subsumed into the Perth–Peel
strategic assessment process?
(3) Has the
project been withdrawn from the Environmental Protection Authority's
assessment process; and, if so, for what reason?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1) The
project is part of Water Corporation's long-term planning to secure
water services for Perth. Current planning indicates it will not be required
for at least 20 years.
(2) Yes.
(3) Yes,
because the Perth–Peel strategic assessment process will ensure a
coordinated, whole-of-government approach to planning infrastructure.
