It is necessary to complete the design prior to finalising the environmental clearance process as aspects of the design can impact on environmental considerations. The design is in the final review stage and will be completed during 2003. Following this, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will be asked to set the level of assessment for the project. Funding for the Toodyay Bypass is being assessed in conjunction with many other important projects across the state as part of the 2003 State Budgetary process. When the State Budgetary process is complete the resourcing needs of the Toodyay Bypass will be reassessed and progressed on an appropriate timetable.
