With regard to the State Government’s Gene Technology Interdepartmental Committee - (1) Will the minister provide a list of the agencies that are involved with the committee, including a list of members and whether they are currently, or were formerly, employed by academic departments, biotechnology companies or companies directly involved in the marketing or releasing of genetically modified crops into the environment? (2) How many of the members have qualifications and experience in ecology or environmental impact assessment, and who are they? (3) Are any community representatives on the committee? Other members have some understanding and knowledge of the processes of environmental impact assessment and natural resources management issues.
