I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1) The
Norseman office has been a part-time office that staff from Kalgoorlie and
Esperance could use if they had business in Norseman. The lease on this space
expires on 31 August and the lease will not be renewed. Departmental staff will
continue to visit Norseman and will utilise community, government and
non-government facilities if they require office space.
(2)–(3)
Norseman has been serviced via outreach from Kalgoorlie and Esperance for a
number of years, and as technology has improved the need for a permanent office
space has become obsolete. Services across the goldfields are provided out of a
hub model, with the hubs being Esperance, Kalgoorlie, Laverton, Leonora,
Warburton, Blackstone and Warakurna.
(4) No
permanent staff have been employed at the Norseman office since January 2012.
Staff from Kalgoorlie and Esperance use this office as required.
(5) No
district offices have closed.
