Teaching staff are defined as all staff employed under the Teachers Award excluding School Psychologists. Employees may resign from multiple regions or sites, and as such, the sum of the breakdowns may exceed the total distinct count.
It is not possible to separate primary and secondary teachers in the the Department’s Staff Exit Survey as it is voluntary and anonymous. Response figures are representative of the survey completion date and are not necessarily aligned with resignation date, so response in (c) may not be from the staff identified in (a) and (b).
In 2025, resignations decreased for primary teachers by 7 percent and 11 precent for secondary teachers.
(a) 661
(b) 514
(c) 253
