I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(a)–(h) Student-centred
funding model budgets are planned on the basis of a calendar year and not on a financial
year in order to match school operations. It is not possible to confirm amounts
estimated to be allocated for out years as the amounts will depend on the
number and characteristic of students enrolled in any given year.
On 2 August 2016, schools were advised
of the 2017 prices and parameters for the SCFM. Funding rates for 2017 will
increase by 2.83 per cent, ensuring school budgets are in line with the cost of
employing staff and purchasing goods and services next year. The increase
accommodates both the increased costs of employing school staff of 2.92 per
cent and the expected consumer price index increase of two per cent for the
purchase of goods and services.
I have the information for the SCFM
rates in tabular form and I seek leave to have it incorporated into Hansard .
Leave granted.
