Does the minister intend to authorise an urgent, independent audit under the direction of a state government appointed administrator to look into the gross financial mismanagement that resulted in a $3.6 million deficit and the lack of accountability in delivery of services by Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service as requested in numerous letters and phone calls from Mr Robert Issacs, OAM, JP, NAIDO Aboriginal of the Year 2001 and elected President of the Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service, on behalf of the financial members of Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service and following the findings of the 1994 Arthur Andersen report and the April 2001 Bentley’s MRI Pty Ltd? I thank the member for some notice of this question.  No.  An independent audit was originally requested by the management of the Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service and was carried out by Bentley MRI, whose report did not find sufficient evidence to suggest the need for any further investigation.  The independent audit reported that there was no financial impropriety.  The recommendations of the audit are currently being implemented.  I suggest that if the member has specific allegations of any illegalities, he should direct them to the police.
