255. Hon Nick Goiran to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Health:
I refer to laws
introduced last year aiming at protecting young people from the misuse of
nitrous oxide gas or nangs, which the then but since replaced health minister
referred to as being the "toughest laws in the country".
(1) Who is responsible for monitoring compliance and
enforcing these laws?
(2) Have any on-the-spot fines been issued in
relation to the unlawful sale of nitrous oxide canisters?
(3) Have any complaints regarding the unlawful
sale of nitrous oxide canisters been referred for court prosecution?
